The Defilter web proxy network has shut down :(
It's had a long run. I started the original "defilter" website back in September 2004 while I was 16, and still at school, to bypass the web filtering system there. Now, in 2010, I had five websites, four of which were on the first page of google results for "UK web proxy". And several copycats who use the word "Defilter" in the URLs of their own proxy sites...
Unfortunately, it takes some effort to run a web proxy - and a lot of resources on my web server. The ads I put on were very minimal, so the proxies barely covered their hosting costs (in fact, if I didn't have other websites running on the same server, I'd be making a loss). So now I don't want the hassle any more. I want to focus on my other projects. One of which is Vocaroo.com, check it out. And my rather rubbish games.
